Jansson wrote all of the music, arrangements, and most of the lyrics”... three of the pieces that use the larger ensemble and are charming, contemplative ballads-particularly pleasing and nicely recorded”... showcases the soloing talents of pianist Tommy Kotter and the lovely vocals of Annika Skoglund”...
The four tunes with Janssons’s quartet”... are jazz-infused”... with brief heads that serve as springboards into freely improvised solos, resulting is some excellent musical dialogue among the players. A good example can be heard on Free One, a kickin' tune all through, but the interaction between pianist Tommy Kotter and drummer Goran Kroon is especially noteworthy.
