Kjell Jansson
…”With this driving quartet the musicianship is of the highest level and
the compositions are just right; in fact, despite all the tunes being
originals, you could almost swear that you’d heard them before, so
natural is their construction. They are the work of the leader, the
excellent bass player Kjell Jansson”... Al Merrit Jazz Journal
(UK)
Kjell Jansson has played with such Swedish groups as: Eje
Thelin Group, Mount Everest, Opposite Corner, Waves and many others.
During his many years with Åke Johansson Trio he toured with many
international and national soloists such as: Chet Baker, James Moody, Toots
Thielemans, Shorty Rogers, Bud Shank, Arne Domnerus, Bernt Rosengren and
many others.

Gilbert
Holmström
"Gilbert Holmström's tenor
saxophone playing is characterised by not
only a respect for tradition but by its youthful sense of mischief
and charm”.
(Lennart Blomberg, Göteborgs-Posten)
Gilbert began his musical
career as an alto saxophonist at the end of the ’50s. He appeared at the
first Montreux Festival in 1967 with his own sextet. Since then he has
taken part in many groups and, in particular, led his own bands, for
example: Gilbert Holmström Quintet, Mount Everest and Isobop which among
its activities toured with Lee Konitz. Kjell Jansson began playing with
Mount Everest in 1971 and in 1975 recorded the album Waves From Albert
Ayler, on the well known progressive music label Atavistic Records in
the U.S. In 2007 a CD by his present group GHQ, The Mandelbrot Set, was
released on Eld Records. www.ghq.se

Tommy Kotter
”Tommy
Kotter, a pianistic delight to hear his embroidery at the keyboard.” (Lennart
Wikström, Strömstads Tidning) ”Tommy Kotter is the enfant terrible of Swedish
jazz, doing more or less whatever he feels on the keys.” (Stig Jonasson,
Smålandsposten)
For the last few years Tommy Kotter has become one
of the most in-demand pianists in Gothenburg. In 2002 a solo-piano CD was issued
and in 2004 he recorded with his sextet Tommy Kotter Unit. On both albums Tommy plays his own
compositions. He also plays with Roland Keijser Quartet, Peter Jansson Trio, and
Bohuslän Big Band where he has accompanied such artists as Georgie Fame, Maria
Schneider, Jojje Wadenius, Svante Thuresson and others.

Göran
Kroon
”Göran Kroon...”Free One” where Gilbert Holmström
tussles with Kjell’s tasty bass and Kroon’s agile drumming is a number
that breathes the spirit of progressive jazz. The same applies to
“Drums And Bass” where Kroon’s light, mobile brushwork behind the bass
earns high points.” (Göran Olson, Orkester Journalen)
Göran Kroon studied classical percussion at the Gothenburg College
of Music but he soon developed a taste for jazz. Now he is one of the
most sought-after drummers in Sweden. He also plays with such groups
as Änglaspel, Marmaduke and the Bohuslän Big Band with which he has
played with such guests as Maria Schneider, Georgie Fame and Kenny
Wheeler.
